Following a jury trial, Ulysses Benjamin Grant was convicted of three counts of robbery by intimidation or force, two counts of armed robbery, and two counts of aggravated assault. Grant now appeals from the denial of his motion for a new trial, asserting error by the trial court: (i) in denying his motion to sever; (ii) in limiting his cross-examination of a prosecution witness; (iii) in denying his motions for a directed verdict on certain counts of the indictment; and (iv) in determining his sentence.
