and Local 1494 of the Fremont Federation of Teachers (hereafter union), appeal from a judgment entered on September 25, 1967, denying their petition for a writ of mandate to reinstate Ward as a junior high school teacher for defendant, Fremont Unified School District (hereafter district), with the classification of a permanent employee. The case is one of first impression under the 1965 version of the notice provisions of section 13443 of the Education Code.
