The plaintiff’s decedent, a tenant of the defendant, was injured by a fall while descending an interior stairway leading from an apartment occupied by her which was located on the second floor of a building owned and occupied by the defendant. The premises consisted of a first or ground floor and a second floor, both of which were used for dwelling purposes, and a third floor which was used for storage purposes. An interior stairway in the rear of the building ran from the ground floor to the third floor and provided the means of ingress and egress to the third floor. The plaintiff’s decedent…
