B. F. Miles instituted this suit to recover damages resulting from alleged negligence in a surgical operation performed by Dr. C. H. Harris upon the person of Mrs. May Miles, the plaintiff’s wife, on the 25th day of November, 1912. Among other things, it was alleged that the operation was in the abdominal region of the person of the plaintiff’s wife, and that during the operation the defendant placed in the abdominal cavity “some kind of gauze packing,” and “negligently and carelessly and unsicillfully left and permitted a large amount of said gauze packing to remain in plaintiff’s^ wife’s…
