The plaintiff, Leona Brisice, brought an action in the circuit court of Cook county against the defendants, the village of Burnham, the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad Company and the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal Railroad Company, to recover damages for personal injuries sustained on September 21, 1935, when an automobile in which she was riding as a' guest struck a barricade across a vacated street in the village of Burnham.
