After a jury trial, Kenneth L. Barber was convicted of one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States by filing false tax returns, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371; six counts of aiding or assisting in the preparation of materially false tax returns, in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7206(2) and 18 U.S.C. § 2; four counts of wire fraud, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1343 and 2; and three counts of making false statements to a federally insured financial institution, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1014.
