These are actions of ejectment brought by the plaintiff, a citizen of Illinois, against the defendants, who are citizens of Wisconsin, to recover 80 acres of land lying in the county of Crawford. • Defense in both cases: adverse possession for 10 years under a written instrument according to section 4211, Bev. St. Wis. To prove his title, the plaintiff introduced in evidence the receipt of the receiver of the land-office at La Crosse, for the land, issued to the plaintiff on November 16, 1854.
