The defendant, Ron Alex James, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after *127a jury trial, of two counts of assault in the first degree with a firearm as a principal or accessory in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-59 (a) (5) and 53a-8 and conspiracy to commit assault in the first degree with a firearm in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-48 and 53a-59 (a) (5).
