Appellant Cody Sleiter seeks excess un-derinsured motorist (UIM) coverage benefits from his family’s automobile policy with respondent American Family Mutual Insurance Company (American Family) because his damages exceeded the recovery available to him under the coverage of the vehicle in which he was a passenger.
