This is a Superior Court medical malpractice civil action in which the defendant physician is charged with negligence in the diagnosis and treatment of the plaintiff’s ailments. The plaintiff also claims that the defendant never informed him of any of the risks involved in the treatment prescribed by the defendant. This appeal follows the trial justice’s grant of the defendant’s motion for a directed verdict on the misdiagnosis and treatment claims and the jury’s rejection of the plaintiff’s informed-consent claim.
