This personal injury case arises from a vehicular accident that occurred on a rainy December day in 1988. Plaintiff was driving her car south on a two-lane highway, Highway 99 in Douglas County. Defendant Price was driving north on the same highway in a tractor-trailer combination owned by defendant R. E. Christiansen Trucking, Inc., Price’s employer. The tractor was pulling a full-length trailer and a ‘ ‘pup ’ ’ or short trailer.
