The plaintiff seeks by this action to recover from the defendant corporation the amount of an endowment fund payable by it upon the death of Edward F. Sheehan.
It is alleged in the complaint that the Journeymen Butchers’ Protective and Benevolent Association of the Pacific Coast is a fraternal, benevolent, and beneficial corporation, duly organized under the laws of this state, and conducting the business of insuring the lives of its members.
