1Opinion of the CourtSaufley, J.

[¶ 1] Richard Burdick appeals from the judgment entered in the Superior Court (Hancock County, Hjelm, J.) following a jury verdict finding him guilty of, among other things, attempted murder, pursuant to 17-A M.R.S.A. § 152(4) (Supp. 2000).1 *321Burdick contends that the sentence imposed on the attempted murder charge was an illegal sentence because it deprived him of his constitutional rights to due process and trial by jury pursuant to the holding of Apprendi v. New Jersey, 530 U.S. 466, 120 S.Ct. 2348, 147 L.Ed.2d 435 (2000).2 We affirm the judgment.
