WEISBERGER Chief Justice.

This case comes to us on appeal by the defendant Pablo Rodriguez, M.D. (Dr. Rodri guez), from a judgment in Providence County Superior Court in favor of the plaintiff based on her action for negligence and removal of her left ovary without obtaining her informed consent. At the conclusion of the evidence the defendant moved for a directed verdict on the informed-consent count, which motion was denied by the trial justice.
