HEANEY, Circuit Judge.

Lorenzo Williams was tried by jury and convicted of Interference with Commerce by Violence in violation of the Hobbs Act, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 1951(a) (2000). He was sentenced to life imprisonment as a “three-strikes” offender, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 3559(c) (2000).
