This Court granted certiorari to review the Court of Appeals’ decision affirming summary judgment in favor of Respondent, Laurens Emergency Medical Specialists, P.A. (“EMS”).

Factual/Procedural Background

On November 1, 1992, EMS and Laurens County Health Care System (“Hospital”) entered into a contract in which EMS agreed to provide emergency services for the Hospital.
