Lewis, Justice.

This is an appeal by the defendant, James David Alexander, from a judgment entered against him in the Court of Common Pleas for Florence County. Separate actions were instituted against the defendant by the plaintiffs as co-administrators of the estate of William Richard Lynch to recover for his wrongful death and conscious pain and suffering, resulting from injuries received while riding in an automobile driven by the defendant.
