COYNE, Justice.

This appeal arises out of a claim and delivery (replevin) action to foreclose on personal property which secured a debt. The district court granted Production Cred it Association of Worthington (PCA) the right to possession of the property, but then stayed its order to permit mediation under Minn.Stat. § 583.26 (1986). PCA petitioned the court of appeals, seeking a writ of prohibition. The court of appeals denied the petition. Production Credit Association v.
