The Borough of Athens and the Borough of Sayre, acting under section 34, clause 7, of the Act of April 29, 1874, P.L. 73, 15 PS § 1353, seek to acquire by purchase the waterworks and water service properties owned by The Sayre Land Company situated in and adjacent to the respective boroughs. Accordingly, on June 1, 1949, each borough filed an application by petition with the Pennsylvania Public Utility.
