(“Lifschultz”) brought this action for professional malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and promissory estoppel against the law *648firm of Haynsworth, Marion, McKay & Guérard (“Haynsworth Firm”), as well as against William P. Simpson Jr., William M. Grant, Julius W. McKay, and John B. McLeod, jointly and severally, as members of the law firm. After much discovery, both Lifschultz and the defendants filed their respective motions for summary judgment.
