OPINION

SINGLETON, Judge.

Helena Mary Faro Gerlach was convicted of custodial interference in the first degree, a class C felony. AS 11.41.820. 1 Gerlach appeals, arguing that the trial court erred in refusing to permit her to present a defense of necessity to the jury. 2 We affirm.

Robert Faro was originally married to Helena Gerlach’s half-sister, Gail. They were divorced and he was awarded custody of their four children. See Faro v. Faro, 579 P.2d 1377 (Alaska 1978).
