Action was brought by the appellant in the municipal court of Chicago to recover from the defendant the sum of $9,120.15, alleged to be due the plaintiff for a dividend declared by the defendant corporation in the year 1917. The statement of claim alleges that on February 20,1917, plaintiff was the owner of 4059.4 shares of the defendant’s capital stock of the par value of $100 per share; that on February 20, 1917, the defendant declared a dividend of $3 per share On its outstanding capital stock, payable in twelve equal monthly instalments on the last day of each and every month during the…
