Lawrence Gavin appeals from the judgment of the district court1 entered in favor of the Secretary of Health and Human Services denying him disability benefits under 42 U.S.C. § 423 (1982).

Lawrence Gavin is a thirty-five year old man with a history of mental disorders as well as alcohol and drug related problems.
