after making the foregoing statement, delivered the following opinion of the court.
The plaintiff in error, a corporation organized under the laws of the District of Columbia, instituted a proceeding in foreign attachment against the defendant in error, a corporation under the laws of West Virginia, as principal defendant under the attachment statutes of Virginia. The principal defendant appeared personally and thereafter the case proceeded as a common-law action instituted by the petitioner as plaintiff.
