HAMITER, Justice.

Sixteen persons, invoking the provisions of A.ct No. 192 of 1920, as last amended by Act No. 120 of 1940, and alleging themselves to be residents and taxpayers of Tangipahoa Parish, instituted this proceeding against Lawrence F. Varnado to obtain the abatement of an alleged gambling nuisance, a place of business conducted by defendant under the name of “Uncle Bud’s Cabin” and. situated within the mentioned political subdivision.
