HEDGES, Chief Justice.

In this matter, we have consolidated a petition for writ of mandamus with an interlocutory appeal. In both proceedings, appellant/relator, Stanford Group Compa ny (“Stanford Group”), challenges the trial court’s order denying its motion to compel arbitration against appellees/real parties in interest, D. Mark Tidwell and Charles W. Rawl (“Tidwell and Rawl”). Stanford Group argues that the trial court improperly denied its motion to compel arbitration.
