We issued a writ of certiorari in this case for the purpose of resolving two important coverage issues under the Motor Vehicle Insurance subtitle of the Insurance Code, Maryland Code (1996, 2002 Repl.Vol., 2005 Supp.), §§ 19-501 through 19-516 of the Insurance Article.

The first issue arises because, inter alia, § 19 — 501 (b)(2)(ii) of the Insurance Code excludes a “taxicab” from the definition of “motor vehicle.” 1 The petitioner Ebrahim Nasseri drives a taxicab and is also the owner of a personal motor vehicle insured by the respondent GEICO General Insurance Company.
