OPINION OF THE COURT
CAPPY, Justice.
This case comes before the Court as a direct appeal following the imposition of a sentence of death.1 On December 2, 1994, a jury found appellant guilty of first degree murder,2 criminal conspiracy,3 and possession of an instrument of *265crime.4 Subsequently, the jury considered the evidence presented at the penalty phase hearing and imposed a sentence of death. The jury found one aggravating circumstance, that the defendant had a significant history of felony convictions involving the use of threat of violence to the person,5 and no mitigating circumstances.6
