The plaintiffs-appellants appeal from the district court’s judgment upholding the denial of old-age pension benefits by the Colorado State Department of Social Services. We reverse.

The appellants are all between the ages of sixty and sixty-five. Their applications for old-age pension benefits were denied solely on the ground that they had not resided in Colorado for a continuous period of thirty-five years immediately preceding application for benefits as required by section 26-2-111(2)(a)(II), C.R.S. 1973.
