Appellant, Ronald U. Lurie, seeks relief from the summary dismissal of his petition for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U .S.C. § 2241. We review de novo a district court’s dismissal of a § 2241 habeas corpus petition. See Charles v. Chandler, 180 F.3d 753, 755 (6th Cir.1999).
Pursuant to a plea agreement, Lurie pled guilty to making a false declaration in a proceeding before the United States Bankruptcy Court in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1623. He was sentenced to a term of eighteen months imprisonment to be followed by two years of supervised release; a fine was also…
