This is an appeal from a denial of a motion for a new trial filed on grounds of newly discovered evidence.

In 1971 appellant was convicted of making false statements to a licensed firearms dealer in connection with the purchase of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(a)(6) and 924. Appellant had certified to the dealer that he had not been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a time exceeding one year.
