Appellant Clara Estades-Negroni (“Es-tades”) brought this action in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico against CPC Hospital San Juan Capestrano (“CPC Hospital”), a private hospital, First Option Corporation Puerto Rico (“First Option”), a private healthcare services provider, and several private physicians (collectively, “Appel-lees”) after she was involuntarily committed to CPC Hospital.
