HOWARD, Judge.
Plaintiffs M.J. “Bob” and Sharon Groot-hand appeal from a court-tried case in the Circuit Court of Cole County. The Groot-hands filed a petition seeking damages from Defendants Kurt and Mary Schlueter for breach of contract after the Schlueters refused to close on a contract for the purchase of the Groothands’ home. The Schlueters counterclaimed seeking rescission of the contract, return of an earnest money deposit, and consequential damages to return them to the status quo they occupied prior to entering into the contract.
