OPINION

ROBERT L. CARTER, District Judge.

Plaintiff Nelson Brown filed, this suit seeking review of a final determination of the Secretary of Health and Human Services denying his application for Social Security disability insurance benefits. 42 U.S.C. § 405(g). Plaintiff, who is now 60 years of age, received a 6th grade educa tion in rural South Carolina. 1 He was employed as a kitchen helper from the 1950’s through 1974, at which time he began working as a pot washer in a cafeteria at the United Nations.
