Court of Appeals of Oregon

Decided July 15, 1971PublishedCited by 7 opinions

1Opinion of the CourtThornton, J.

Petitioner Alan Beistel, a permanent civil service employe at the University of Oregon’s power plant, was dismissed from his job as an equipment operator for alleged insubordination. After dismissal he appealed to the Public Employe Relations Board, which body sustained the dismissal. He then sought judicial review by tbe circuit court. The court ruled that the dismissal procedure was technically improper, reversed and set aside the order of the Board and ordered Beistel restored to his employment with back pay. The Board and the University appeal from the order of the trial court.
