The defendant, Eric N. Person, was charged with sexual assault in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-71 (a) (l),1 sexual assault in the fourth degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-73a (a) (1) (D)2 and two counts of risk of injury to a child in violation of General Statutes § 53-21.3 Fol*655lowing a jury trial, he was convicted of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of risk of injury to a child and acquitted of the other two charges.
