SULLIVAN, Chief Judge:

On August 15 and 16, 1989, appellant was tried by a general court-martial composed of officer members at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and wrongful possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, in violation of Articles 81 and 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 881 and 912a, respectively.
