This case presents the question whether this court should recognize a cause of action for retaliatory discharge when an employer discharges an employee for filing a workers’ compensation claim. Cathy L. Jackson appeals the district court’s dismissal of her petition based upon the failure to state a cause of action. The petition alleged that Morris Communications Corporation, doing business as York News-Times, terminated her employment because she filed a workers’ compensation claim and that she suffered damages.
