Memorandum Opinion of the Court

In May 1969, the petitioner pleaded guilty before a special court-martial to an unauthorized absence of thirty-five days and missing movement of his ship by neglect. He was sentenced to a period of confinement and forfeiture of pay which was later reduced by the convening authority. Petitioner escaped from confinement and remained away as an unauthorized absentee until July 10, 1969, when he surrendered.
