On September 18, 1918, plaintiff was riding a bicycle along the south side of Fulton street, in the city of Grand Rapids.' Proceeding easterly, he came to the intersection of that street with Diamond avenue. When near the curb across the intersection, he collided with a truck belonging to defendant and driven by an employee named Martin De Young. The truck had been stopped on the north side of Fulton street, and about 100 feet east from the intersection. .When started by the driver, it proceeded somewhat diagonally across Fulton street to the point where the collision occurred.
