Appellant, Robert L. Bruce, was convicted by a jury of two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, D.C.Code § 22-502 (1981), one count of second-degree murder while armed, D.C.Code §§ 22-2403 and -3202 (1981), and two counts of carrying a pistol without a license, D.C.Code § 22-3204 (1981). Appellant was committed for a period of twelve years under the Federal Youth Corrections Act, 18 U.S.C. § 5010(c) (1976). We reject appellant’s contention that he was entitled to a severance of the charges relative to the two respective incidents, but agree with his contention that the evidence does not…
