{1 Defendant Thomas Devirl Curtis appeals his convictions of four counts of rape, see Utah Code Ann. § 76-5-402 (LexisNexis Supp. 2013),1 and four counts of distribution of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, see id. §§ 58-37-8(1)(a)@ii), (4)(a)(x) (2012). Defendant argues that his trial counsel provided ineffective assistance by committing a number of errors that prejudiced his defense.
