I. INTRODUCTION

This diversity case involves a claim by Ames Privilege Associates Limited Partnership (“plaintiff” or “Ames”) for coverage under an insurance policy issued by Allendale Mutual Insurance Company (“defendant”). The defendant issued a Fire and Extended Property Coverage Policy (“the policy”) which covered property owned by Ames during the period August 1, 1985 through August 1,1986.
