Westchester County has a total population, according to its 1965 special census enumeration, of 853,198. It contains 18 towns and 6 cities. The towns range in population from 82,882 in Greenburgh to 2,924 in North Salem. Among the cities, Yonkers has the largest population with 201,573, and Rye has the smallest, with 15,232. In accordance with the provisions of the Town Law (§§ 10 and 20) which provide that each town in the county shall have a Supervisor, and the County Law (§ 150) and the Westchester County Administrative Code (L. 1948, ch. 852, § 12) which provide that the Supervisors of…
