In this accelerated, interlocutory appeal, the appellant contends that the trial court’s purported oral grant of motions to dismiss under the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA) was ineffective and therefore the motions were denied by operation of law. Under the TCPA, the trial court must rule on a motion to dismiss no later than the 30th day following the date of the hearing on the motion, and if the trial court does not rule within the prescribed time, the motion is denied -by operation of law.
