Plaintiff Gregory W. Baran, M.D. (“Bar-an” or “Plaintiff’) brings this patent infringement suit against Defendants Medical Device Technologies, Inc. (“MDTech”), Gedon AB (“Gedon”), Ascendía AB (“As-cendía”), and Anders H. Weilandt (“Weil-andt”) (Gedon, Ascendía, and Weilandt are hereinafter collectively referred to as “the Swedish defendants”), alleging infringement of two patents directed at an automated biopsy instrument that, according to the Complaint, 1 are issued to and owned by Baran.
