OPINION

WEISBERGER, Chief Justice.

This ease comes before us on the appeal of the defendant, Richard Hartley, from a judgment of conviction entered in the Superior Court on one count of robbery in violation of G.L.1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-39-1. Hartley was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment with eight years to serve and the balance of the sentence suspended. We remand the case to the Superior Court for an evidentiary hearing. The facts of the case insofar as pertinent to this appeal are as follows.
