In March, 1954, Clyde Johnson, who had been a patrolman in the police department of the city of Belling-ham continuously since November, 1945, injured his right knee while in the performance of his police duties. Later, the injury was so seriously aggravated that he could not continue his work, and has not since been able to perform the duties of a patrolman. The pension board granted Johnson full pay sick leave benefits, as provided by RCW 41-.20.120, for a period of six months ending December 17, 1954.
