The Acme Machine Works sold to the Auburn Lumber Company certain machinery and personal property for $2,770, of which sum $1,000 was paid in cash, and the balance of the purchase money was secured by two notes, due, respectively, 23 February and 24 April, 1903. On these notes payments were made which reduced the balance due on 15 December, 1906, including interest, to $973.36. In the contract of sale it was stipulated that if the Auburn Lumber Company should fail to pay the notes, or either of them, at maturity, the entire debt should become due, and the Acme Machine Works might take…
