Plaintiff Joseph Mugan (“Mugan”) brings this action under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”), 29 U.S.C. § 1001 et seq., alleging that Hartford Life Group Insurance Company (“Hartford”) wrongfully terminated his employer-sponsored long-term disability benefits. Before this Court is Mugan’s motion for summary judgment, in which he argues that Hartford’s decision to terminate his long-term disability benefits was arbitrary and capricious and that Hartford’s decision was motivated by a conflict of interest.
